Revie Lake Makes British GT History with Donington Park Victory

Revie Lake's British GT campaign reached a major milestone at Donington Park as the teenage driver claimed a historic pole position before going on to secure his first victory in the championship alongside teammate Blake Angliss.

The result marked a significant moment in Lake's young career, with the victory making him the second-youngest winner in British GT history. Meanwhile, his pole position saw him become the youngest pole sitter in the championship's history.

A Dramatic Qualifying Session

Qualifying initially saw Lake and Angliss secure third position.

However, the two Ginetta cars ahead were subsequently disqualified, promoting the #84 McLaren to pole position. The revised result meant Lake had made British GT history.

At just 16 years old, he became the youngest driver ever to start a British GT race from pole position; a remarkable achievement for a driver who only began competing in real-world motorsport in 2025.

A Wet Start at Donington

Race day brought challenging conditions as rain fell at the start. Angliss took the opening stint in the #84 McLaren and immediately began building an advantage over the cars behind.

As the conditions remained difficult, he successfully established a significant gap to second place, an advantage that would prove crucial as the race developed.

The race was largely straightforward at the front, with the changing weather conditions providing the biggest challenge.

When a Full Course Yellow was called and the pit window opened, Angliss's advantage gave the team the opportunity to complete their pit stop safely without losing their position at the front of the field.

The #84 McLaren remained firmly in contention for victory.

Revie Takes Over

With the pit stop complete, it was Lake's turn behind the wheel. The young driver emerged with the responsibility of bringing the McLaren home from the lead.

There were no major incidents or dramatic battles to contend with during his stint, but the conditions still demanded complete concentration.

After the wet start, Lake managed the race calmly and effectively, maintaining the advantage that Angliss had worked hard to build during the opening stint.

Lap by lap, the finish moved closer, and eventually, Lake brought the #84 McLaren across the line in first place.

A Historic First Victory

The result was Lake's first British GT victory, and one that immediately placed him in the championship's history books. Having become the youngest-ever pole sitter following the revised qualifying result, Lake then became the second-youngest race winner in British GT history.

It was the breakthrough result that his 2026 season had been building towards. Earlier rounds had shown flashes of the teenager's potential.

There had been front-running pace at Spa-Francorchamps, where Lake topped the GT4 order in practice. At Snetterton, he qualified third before his race ended prematurely.

At Donington Park, however, everything finally came together; strong qualifying pace, a controlled opening stint from Angliss, a well-timed pit stop, and a composed drive from Lake to the chequered flag.

A Major Moment for Revie Lake

For Lake, the victory represents a significant milestone in a remarkably rapid rise through motorsport.

Only a year after competing in Ginetta Junior, the young driver is now a British GT race winner. More importantly, Donington Park demonstrated the progress he has made throughout his first GT4 season.

The raw pace had already been there. Now, finally, came the result.

From becoming British GT's youngest-ever pole sitter to standing on the top step of the podium as one of its youngest-ever winners, Donington Park will undoubtedly be remembered as one of the most important weekends of Revie Lake's racing career so far.

And at just 16 years old, it may only be the beginning.
